The Nigerian fashion industry has fostered an empowering space for women to prosper and thrive. Shaping the scene locally, to an audience globally, are young female designers. To commemorate Lagos Fashion Week 2024, and celebrate these young designers, Femme Africa collaborated with GIDA Journal to host a roundtable with inspiring designers under 30.

As media partners, each year, Femme Africa produce content that not only amplifies young female fashion designers, but also shares the stories of young women throughout the ecosystem. This year, we decided to take our commitment further, hosting our own event within the fashion week cycle, to honour designers in our community.

Curated by GIDA, a lifestyle journal exploring the work and lives of creatives on the continent, the dinner convened 12 women under thirty, whose brands we believe are shaping the future of Nigerian fashion, both in luxury fashion, and high-street style. The Lagos Fashion Week Roundtable was held not only as a celebration, but more importantly, as platform for Femme Africa to understand the issues young designers face, and how we as a community-driven company could offer solutions.
